The Kidde 0918KCA is a 9 V battery operated, single station smoke alarm. The 0918KCA offers a Hush® feature that temporarily silences nuisance alarms and a safety light, powered by a separate 9 V battery, that illuminates when an alarm sounds to guide your way to safety. Many Provinces & Municipalities have created legislation requiring smoke alarms or specific types of smoke alarms in various settings. Certain laws also specify when homes need carbon monoxide alarms. Ionization Technology may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. LED Safety Light Illuminates when alarm sounds to guide your way to safety. 9 V Battery Operated No wiring required. Provides continuous protection even during power outages. Hush® Button Temporarily silences nuisance alarms for approximately 8 minutes (smoke must be present before Hush® is activated). Test / Reset Button Tests the unit's circuit operation and resets memory after an alarm condition occurs. Tamper Resist Feature Unit will lock to mounting bracket to deter theft or tampering.
