Our Company

Founded in 1938 by Jack Stanyer, Haney Builders is Maple Ridge's oldest lumber yard and building supply store. Covering a complete city block (5 acres) in the heart of downtown Maple Ridge, Haney Builders' Supplies is also the areas largest lumberyard and building supply. We are a full service yard with a good selection and very experienced staff. Click on the drawing to see what we looked like when we opened our doors in 1938. This sketch, drawn from memory, is from Mr. Don Merkley of Maple Ridge as he remembered the store when it was built. Mr. Merkley was also the very first customer. Read his letter on the right as he recounts Haney Builders first sale. Note the price of a 4x8 (good both sides) sheet of plywood.

When Mr. Stanyer retired in 1964 Haney Builders was purchased by Bob Stinson. Bob carried on the tradition of providing excellent service and attributes the success of Haney Builders to it's employees and community involvement. Bob himself is now retired and the business has been passed on to his son Tom Stinson.
